Cancellation & Refund Policy

At JimCorbett.in, we follow transparent and fair cancellation guidelines. Safari bookings in Jim Corbett National Park are governed by Uttarakhand Forest Department rules, and all cancellations must comply with their policies.

Safari Permit Cancellation Policy (Government Rules)

Safari permits once issued by the forest department are non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-amendable. Accordingly:

  • NO refund is possible for safari permits under any circumstances.
  • Government charges (permit fees, guide fee, vehicle entry fee) cannot be refunded by us.
  • Dates, visitor names, or ID details cannot be changed after permit confirmation.

These are strict rules of the Forest Department and apply to all operators.


Operator Facilitation Service Cancellation Rules

Our facilitation service involves operational expenses and administrative costs.

Cancellation charges on our service fee are:

  • Cancellation within 24 hours of booking (if permit not booked yet): 100% refund of facilitation service charge
  • After permit booking initiated: 0% refund of facilitation service charge
  • Last-minute cancellations (travel date): No refund

Jeep / Canter Related Cancellations

If a safari is canceled by the Forest Department due to conditions such as:

  • Heavy rain
  • Route closure
  • Animal movement restrictions
  • VIP movement
  • Emergency wildlife operations
  • Then:
  • Government fees: Refund/non-refund depends on Forest Department rules at that time
  • Facilitation fee: Non-refundable (service already rendered)

Joy Ride Elephant Safari Cancellation Policy

Elephant ride is a joy ride which is conducted by the locals in Jim Corbett, this safari is not the official elephant safari by the forest department.

  • NO refund is possible for Elephant ride in under any circumstances.

Resort / Hotel/ Package Cancellation (if booked with us)

Each property has its own cancellation policy.

We will share the exact policy at the time of booking.

Typical structure:

  • 30 days prior to arrival - 90% Refund
  • 15 days to 29 days prior to arrival - 70% Refund
  • 07 days to 14 days prior to arrival - 60 % Refund
  • 02 days to 06 days prior to arrival - 50% Refund
  • Less than 48 hours or no show - NO REFUND.

Forest Lodge Booking Policy

  • Dhikala, Bijrani, Jhirna, Dhela Forest Lodges: Strictly non-refundable under any circumstances.
  • Forest lodge bookings are fully controlled by the Forest Department, and we have no influence over availability or cancellations.

General Policies :

1. Booking Confirmation

  • Customers must wait a minimum of 24 hours for booking confirmation and vouchers.
  • Booking vouchers will be provided via Email, WhatsApp, SMS, or Hard Copy , depending on availability.

2. Accommodation Policy

  • For 3 guests , one room with 1 extra mattress will be provided.
  • Room allotment is subject to hotel availability and may vary depending on hotel policies.

3. Pricing, Taxes & Fee Changes

  • Any changes in government taxes, hotel tariffs, safari charges, or permits will be informed before the travel date.
  • After finalizing the tour price, any hike in:
    • Permit fees
    • Museum entry fees
    • Fuel cost
    • Government taxes
    • Guide charges

will be charged extra as per government rules.


4. Rainy Season & Provisional Bookings

  • Day visit bookings to Corbett Tiger Reserve (CTR) during 1st June – 14th November are provisional.
  • Bookings may be cancelled anytime based on weather and safety conditions.
  • No refund will be issued for cancellations due to bad weather, forest department restrictions, or natural calamities.

5. Safari Booking Failure

  • If your safari cannot be booked due to:
    • Technical issues
    • Lack of availability
    • Forest department rejection

    The full amount will be refunded to your bank account.


    6. Peak Season Policy

    • During peak dates (Holi, Diwali, Christmas, New Year, long weekends), a separate cancellation policy applies.
    • Details of peak season charges or cancellation terms will be shared at the time of booking.

    7. Force Majeure Conditions

    • We are not liable for cancellations or changes caused by:
      • Natural disasters (rain, flood, landslides)
      • Strikes, protests, traffic disruptions
      • Government orders or restrictions
      • Overbooking by hotels
      • Sudden closure of zones by the Forest Department
    • We will try to arrange alternate options, but no refund or compensation shall be claimed.

    8. Identity Proof Requirement

    • Every traveller must carry a valid Government ID Proof (Aadhar card, voter ID, passport, etc.) for safari and lodge entry.
    • Safari will be denied without ID, and no refund will be issued in such cases.

    9. Incorrect Information Policy

    • Providing wrong details like:
      • Incorrect name
      • Wrong age
      • Wrong ID number

      can lead to safari cancellation by the Forest Department without refund.


    10. No-Show Policy

    • If the guest does not show up on the travel date, no refund will be applicable under any circumstance.

    11. Jurisdiction

    • All disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in New Delhi.

    📝 Important Notes

    All refunds (where applicable) are processed within 7–10 working days.
